Now you may be asking yourself, "how does that relate to your decision on whether or not you're staying or going?" Well, if I was staying, I didn't want to stay alone. I told my husband that if I was staying, I was getting a puppy. So, as you can see, our little Lady came to us and our decision was made; I would be staying and he would be going.
Having a puppy was definitely a challenge; I was just very glad that my husband was with me in the beginning. It definitely takes two to train a puppy. I also thank the Lord everyday that he gave us a puppy before a child because if I can make it through a puppy I one step closer making it through a child. I learned a lot about patience and myself on how to be selfless. I am very glad that I was able to test out and work through this character building with a puppy and not with our first child. We worked through it and I find that I have a lot more patience now and and I'm a lot more flexible. I am also able to see the joy that Lady brings to our household.
As we are bringing up this puppy, who is now six month old, I'm trying new things and new ways to make sure that she's living a healthy life in the same way that I desire for myself and my husband to be living. There are a lot of things that I have yet to try with her but homemade treats are the first thing that I've done. She is obsessed with them, so that not only helps us save money but it also helps me know what I'm putting in her body.
The next adventure I'll be taking is using essential oils with her in various things like soaking her collar with oils to help prevent fleas or making a lotion for her paws to make sure they stay nice and comfortable. Another thing I would like to try is using oil to help with her energy or other various things that might need remedy. Oils for humans can also be used with dog, because if you're going to put it in your body why not share it with your furry friend?
