Sunset Sebastian

Were you out in the sun for too long today?  Just need a refreshing mist to cool down?  Sunset Sebastian to the rescue!  Ok, don't be a hater for my continual need to be Disney Inspired, but it is too fun!  This might be a working title...if you can come up with anything else, let me know.

For those of you who share the passion for excellent wellness products from Young Living, this recipe is based on LavaDerm...however, it is currently out of stock, so we had to improvise for summer.

Sunset Sebastian

1/2 oz distilled water
1/2 oz Aloe Vera Juice (This is what I used)
3 drops Young Living Lavender
2 drops Young Living Peppermint
2 drops Young Living Copaiba

Wool Dryer Balls

Did you know that the most toxic thing in our homes these days are the fabric softener and dryer sheets?  Let the panic begin.  Have no fear, there is a better, natural solution, wool dryer balls.  Now you can make your own, just go search Pinterest...but after making quite a few of my own, I found a better solution.  Support a small business and get ones that are already made for you!  I got mine from here.  Great service and great products...what more can you ask for?
What is different about wool dryer balls?  The more you have in your dryer, the faster your clothes dry, saving energy and fluffing as they go.  However, if you let them run for too long once they are dry, there comes static.  These will not prevent static, but if you have a dryer that has an auto-sense* it will help you not get into the static zone.
The best part? What do you want your clothes to smell like today? Lavender, Lemon, Purification, Idaho Blue Spruce, Stress Away....put about 10 drops on one ball or spread about among them...your clothes will smell yummy!   The oils should last several loads and then reload your sent...and let them roll!

Sneezy "Ode to a Dwarf"

How many of you feel like the Dwarf from Snow White when spring hits? You wish you had your fellow dwarfs with you all the time to hold your nose.  Or are you like me and suffer like our dwarf friend all year round?  Here is a blend I have formulated to help support my respiratory system against the seasons.

Sneezy
"Ode to a Dwarf"
10 ml roller bottle
10 drops each of Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint Essential Oils
Topped with Fractionated Coconut oil (or any carrier oil of your choice)

Apply to sinuses as often as needed!
I roll it over the bridge of my nose and across my brow.  The Peppermint has an instant cooling and supports the respiratory system by opening up the sinuses.

And So It Begins....

So today begins the Journey my husband has been striving toward for 6 years. We are sitting at orientation for his new job and I am praying to God for guidance and clarity on how I can be supportive and fulfill the role God has given me.
In verse 12, this woman who fears the Lord is said to do her husband good all the days of her life. Being supportive and available to my husband is doing him good. Being at orientation with him is not only showing him my love, but showing the rest of the staff that I am there for him. I am excited to learn more about ways to do good for my husband all the days of my life...

Verse 25 is the most powerful of all for me in this journey, and has been a coveted verse of mine for time. Strength and dignity are her clothing... Even as i am all dressed up right, putting on strength in front of this crowd is the most important, and difficult. Who am I to stand among a room full of department of Fish and Wildlife staff? I am a woman who fears the Lord!
Verse 25 continues with am image that I, not only now, but throughout this experience will have to remember... She laughs at the time to come. Wow.... The next year will be an adventure, and I say year because yes, the section of training is 8 months, but then on site training is 3 months after that. I laugh Lord at the time to come, these are happy tears right? Oy. I am clothed with strength, I am clothed in strength.

Once back at the apartment, that surreal feeling was still overwhelming as we started to relax. No time was wasted in my husband pulling up work and getting started, while being completely exhausted, I had to succomb to the request of Lady, our golden retriever, who decided she was not satisfied to sit in the house and play. We went for a long walk in the rain. I have to admit that Lady knew what she was doing, the walk was refreshing and calmed my nerves. She listens to God very well :) Just before bed, I put a drop of Lavender on my chest and feel into a peaceful sleep.

Air Purifier

Ok, let me be honest with you for a second. If you are using any sort of air fresher, plugins, deodorizing spray, candles, or scented warmers, you are filling the air with harmful fragrance toxins that can disrupt your endocrine system! You thought you were eliminating odor and breathing in fresh air, but in all reality, the air is becoming more toxic to breath!

So, what is the solution? An all natural, diy, air purifier that will help you rather than harm you.

Air Purifier
Glass mist bottle
2/3 Distilled Water
1/3 Witch Hazel
15 Drops Purification Essential Oil
15 Drops Lavender Essential Oil

Stay in air when needed.

(Could also use as a body mist... Because you don't want to use that perfume either... But more on that later)

A Golden Afternoon Perfume

The words "fragrance" or "parfum" areused in many products to legally hide hundreds of ingredients that are known as endocrine disruptors. Once I heard this, I couldn't believe how many products simply say Fragrance.

Ok then that gets us started on perfume itself!  Oy, it should not be going on your skin!  Even though I know we all have the perfume we love, or our husbands love, the risk is just not worth it. Instead, make your own scent that will have all the benefits and no downfalls.

Just find some Essential oils you like and put them in a mist or rollerball bottle with some Fractionated Coconut Oil or witch hazel and water. And there you go, no more toxic fragrance.

Here is one I made for my niece. It is light and fresh. And will awaken her senses, and calm her down if she needs it.

A Golden Afternoon Perfume

15 drops Lavender
15 drops Lemon
Fill with Fractionated Coconut Oil
Glass rollerball bottle

Roll on wrists and/or back of ears
